Abstract: The Projet SeaBioData aims to develop an adequate technological framework to ensure that the biological material and associated information, collected in the project BIOMETORE coordinated by the IPMA about the biodiversity of seamounts and their ecosystems, is compiled and fully accessible. The Database will enable a prompt and uniform data access to all researchers at a local and national level. So, this project will provide new means to store and access original datasets and a set of interoperable services to disseminate observation data, thus providing baseline information for sustainable management of the Portuguese marine environment, as well as to the development of the marine strategies for the continuous assessment and maintenance of the good environmental status (GES).
Project promoter: The Institute for Systems Engineering and Computers, Technology and Science (INESC TEC)
Project partner: The Portuguese Sea and Atmosphere Institute (IPMA)
Beneficiary Target Group:Public and private organizations, including not-for-profit organizations and NGOs, responsible for the organization and delivery of education and training at local, regional and national levels. Civil servants/Public administration staff.
Programme Grant Contribution: € 194.651
