INTEGRATE project, funded by the European INTERREG Arco-Atlântico program, was nominated for 2020 Atlantic Project Awards. The award honors successful cases among the projects developed in the area covered by the Maritime Atlantic Strategy (coastal areas, territorial and jurisdictional waters, and overseas territories of France, Ireland, Portugal, Spain and United Kingdom) and related to the Atlantic Action Plan 2.0.
For 3 years (2017-2020), INTEGRATE project fostered collaboration between research, industry, society and authorities, aiming at sustainable aquaculture, namely Integrated Multitrophic Aquaculture (IMTA). The project involved 8 European partners (CTAQUA, IPMA, ALGAplus, Agrocampus Ouest, CEVA, ISC, NUIG and SAMS) and 11 associated partners from 5 European Atlantic Area member states. The project systematized and transferred knowledge about IMTA, defined good practices and environmental efficiency in IMTA, and proposed medium and long-term action strategies for IMTA development in European Atlantic Area.
The winner will be revealed during the 7th Atlantic Stakeholders Platform Conference (ASPC2020), on November 19, 2020. The event aims to launch the new Atlantic Plan 2.0 and bring together decision makers, experts and entrepreneurs to talk about sustainable blue economy and EU Green Agreement. This event will be completely online and the project will be presented at the Virtual Exhibition of the ASPC2020 platform.
