Visit to IPMA´s Vessel

On March 6, the research vessel (RV) Mário Ruivo received the visit of members of IPMA, the Oceanário de Lisboa, Ispa – University Institute and the Lisbon City Hall.
The visit resulted from the participation of IPMA’s Division of Modelling and Management of Fisheries Resources in the preparation of the Red Book of the Marine Fishes of Portugal. In early January, the same group participated in the evaluation of the conservation status of two groups of marine fishes present in Portuguese waters, from the Sparidae family and the Gadiformes order, based on the conservation criteria defined by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).
The visit was made by the team of the Research Vessels and Ocean Observatories Group (NNIO) of IPMA with the support of the crew and the Port of Lisbon.
