Science Minister Visits IPMA

The Minister of Science, Technology and Higher Education, Elvira Fortunato, visited the IPMA facilities (headquarters and Algés) last Friday, March 10, where she was received by members of the Board of Directors and researchers from the different areas of activity of the Institute .
In the presentation meetings, IPMA's Scientific and Strategic Plan was discussed, followed by a conversation with the Institute's researchers about the main areas of research and IPMA's services.
There was also an opportunity to visit the Operational Centers for Aeronautical Meteorology, General Purpose Meteorology, Seismology and Tsunamis, and the Operational Center for Telecommunications and Informatics (at the Institute's Headquarters), and in Algés it was possible to visit IPMA´s laboratories (Lab-Vivos , Microbiology, Biotoxins, Marine Plankton, Pathology, Simo-stratigraphy, Paleo-oceanography and Sedimentology).
The visit made it possible to make known to the Minister of Science, Technology and Higher Education, the excellence of IPMA science in its different areas of action, as well as the infrastructures and programs to support this research
