WMC - 2019

Group photo: World Meteorological Congress - 20192019-06-05 (IPMA)

An IPMA´s delegation attended the World Meteorological Congress, which took place in Geneva, from June 3 to 14.

The Congress meets every four years and this year aims to agree on future strategies and tools to support member countries to increase resilience to extreme weather conditions, water, climate and other environmental shocks, strengthen scientific observations and forecasts. It also aims to strengthen the link between the public and private sectors, as well as universities, to respond more effectively to growing social needs.

IPMA´s delegation was attended by the President of the Directors Board, Miguel Miranda, and the chief units from Climate and Climate Change; Meteorological Forecasting, Surveillance and Earth Observation, as well as International Relations.
