IPMA is part of the strategic network of partners "European Alliance of Universities of the Sea", whose national participation is led by the University of Algarve.

This international supercampus can be understood as the European University of the Sea and includes strategic partners such as CCDR do Algarve, Conselho Intermunicipal do Algarve, Docapesca, CCMAR, IPMA, S2AQUA, Centro de Ciência Viva do Algarve, NGO SCIAENA, Águas do Algarve and the Algarve Tourism Region. In terms of universities, there are now nine that integrate this supercampus: Cádiz, Brittany West, Kiel, Gdansk, Algarve, Naples and Nord.

The funding for this European network, through the ERASMUS + program, is around 14.4 million euros for four years.
