IPMA involved in extreme fire behavior project

On February 5, 2019, the kick-off meeting of the FIRESTORM project was held at the premises of the Association for the Development of Industrial Aerodynamics (ADAI) in Coimbra, where IPMA participates.
The objectives of the project are to characterize and model the extreme behavior of fire, the interaction between atmosphere and fire, as well as the emission and dispersion of smoke in fires.
The FIRESTORM project has a duration of 3 years and is funded by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), counting in addition to IPMA and ADAI (project leader), with the participation of the University of Aveiro (UA) and the Institute of Mechanical Engineering (IDMEC).
