President of IPMA elected ECMWF Council President

The President of the Portuguese Institute for Sea and Atmosphere, Prof. Jorge Miguel Alberto de Miranda, was elected ECMWF Council President (European Center for Medium-Range Weather Forecasting) during the 88th Session of the Council meeting, which took place on 1st and 2nd December in Reading, England.

ECMWF is an international organization founded in 1975, currently composed of 22 Member States, including Portugal, and 12 Cooperating States. This organization develops numerical modeling products that aim to improve weather forecasting and climate monitoring.
