Drought conditions until 15th June

The drought conditions, by 15th June, remain in almost the whole of Portugal mainland, verifying an increase in its intensity particularly in the central and southern regions, compared to May 31.
Until 15th June there was no occurrence of rainfall in almost the entire region of the South, with an average amount of precipitation of 7.8 mm, below the 1971-2000 average (32.2 mm) for this month. The cumulative total for 2011/12 remains below the normal value although higher than for 2004/05 period, which corresponds to the most severe drought of the last 10 years.
