Earthquake magnitude Mw7.5, Sulawesi, Indonesia

A major earthquake with magnitude Mw7.5 occurred on 2018-09-28 at 10:02:43 UTC (0.178°S, longitude 119.840°E) near Sulawesi, Indonesia at a depth of 10 km (USGS source).
The earthquake as a result of strike-slip faulting at shallow depthswithin the interior of the Molucca Sea microplate, part of Sunda tectonic plate.
The extension of shaking in MI scale is up to VII, corresponding to strong shaking level, and correlated with moderate.Many buildings have collapsed.
This earthquake generated a tsunami, which flooded the city of Palu on Sualawesi Island, Indonesia. The Indonesian Tsunami Warning Center has disseminated a tsunami warning 5 minutes after the earthquake occurred, indicating that the maximum wave height can reach up to 3 meters. At least one person has been confirmed dead so far.
There has been an aftershock sequence, with ten events of M 4.7 and larger in the three hours following this earthquake. The largest aftershock in this timeframe was M 5.8, about 12 minutes after the M 7.5 earthquake.
