AThe commercial activity is carried on under the rules of the European Institute that a member, namely, the European Co-Operation on Meteorology (ECOMET), the European Centre for Medium Weather Forecast Period (ECMWF) and the European Organization for exploitation of Meteorological Satellites (EUMETSAT), ensuring compliance with IPMA policies, standards and recommendations with regard to business operations.

The Institute provides its main users, data, products and value-added services, including products from climatology, seismology, weather condition forecasts, analyzes of water, fish, sediment, and fish pathology.

IPMA makes available a phone number for general forecast for Portugal mainland, 760 786 774.
