Description

Assegurar o aconselhamento científico para a gestão dos recursos pesqueiros.

O PNAB assegura um conjunto de atividades de recolha, gestão e uso de dados biológicos obtidos da frota comercial registada em Portugal continental (dados dependentes da pesca) e de diversas campanhas de investigação (dados independentes da pesca). O principal objetivo do PNAB é, assim, produzir conhecimento para fundamentação dos pareceres científicos que servem de base ao aconselhamento à gestão para a exploração sustentável de todas as espécies comerciais no âmbito da Política Comum das Pescas (PCP, Regulamento (UE) 1380/2013 do Parlamento Europeu e do Conselho).
