Blue Circular Innovation Event

IPMA is hosting the "Blue Circular Innovation Event – From Aquaculture to Sustainable Food Solutions," an international gathering dedicated to innovation, sustainability, and the circular economy in the aquaculture and fisheries sectors. The event will take place on September 24th at the IPMA Auditorium in Algés, and aims to bring together the various stakeholders in the sector, from scientific research and health and industry professionals to consumers.
Throughout the day, experts from several European countries will share the main results and experiences from the AQUAFISH0.0 project, addressing key topics for the future of food, such as the valorization of underused fishery and aquaculture products, food safety, economic viability, regulatory challenges, consumer acceptance, and the development of new sustainable products.
The program will also include a culinary demonstration by a chef, who will present innovative, healthy, and sustainable dishes made with underutilized fish species, an interactive virtual reality experience through an educational cooking video game, and two round tables dedicated to the future of aquaculture and the valorization of underexplored marine resources for the development of innovative food products and solutions.
The event will be conducted mainly in Portuguese, with simultaneous translation into English, and will also be live-streamed, allowing for both in-person (limited seats) and online participation.
Participation is free, subject to mandatory prior registration.
