Clima services - Climate scenarios for Portugal mainland in the XXI century.

Climate change planned globally will have a significant impact in mainland Portugal and the Autonomous Regions, demanding, medium and long-term adaptation measures to reduce the risk, either globally or individually, in planning activities and future investment.

Portal do climaClimate Portal

Recently the IPMA, I.P., in partnership with the Instituto Dom Luiz of Lisbon and integrated in the project "localwarming" the ADAPT program, developed the "climate gate".

This portal offers a wide range of climatic indicators, air temperature, precipitation, intensity of surface wind, drought index, heat waves and cold, fire, etc.

AdaPT program is designed to financially support the activities on the "Adaptation to Climate Change" in Portugal. Its development was guided by the terms set out on the Memorandum of Understanding between Portugal, Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein, under the European Economic Area Financial Mechanism (EEA-Grants). Posteriorly the program was adjusted according to the needs and contributions of the coordination group of ENAAC (National Strategy for Adaptation to Climate Change).
